J.
L. Taylor Custom Calls was founded by me, James Taylor, A career active duty military man
in the United States Coast Guard with a love for the Outdoors and Turkey hunting. I
offer Wooden Pot Style and Box Friction Calls custom built by me at home in Virginia. My
components are chosen to produce the most realistic tones achievable of the wild turkey.
Each of my calls are built one at a time using various Domestic and Exotic woods with the
choice of three different calling surfaces Glass, Slate, or Aluminum for the Pot calls.
Standard Boxcalls are also avaiable on the custom orders page. With a J. L. Taylor Custom
Call, hunters can produce all the seductive sounds of a wild turkey to bring your next
Gobbler into range. Each pot call comes with its own matched custom 2 piece striker.
Custom personal engraving is available on pot calls on the Custom Orders page. Examples of
finished calls are found on the Domestic and Exotic Calls pages. Additional strikers are
